Good friends…

20090523-DSC_0022

Our friends the Johansen’s are visiting from Knoxville, TN.  We had a great day.  Eli was with us in this picture but for most of the day he was living it up at Grandma and Grandpa Robinson’s house with thier fenced in backyard garden, sandbox and spa, leaving Paul and I available for leisurely breakfasts and lunches.  Endless conversation with no interuptions – heavenly.

Today is May 23!  I’m due in one month!  We can’t wait to meet you Myles Lucas…

The Johansen’s always make us laugh and think.  They also carry our 35 pound toddler around for us.  Eli had not seen them in a year and obviously didn’t remember them but made quick friends – he has good taste.

Our weekend so far…

pauldriver.jpg

This is number one on my list of things you should not have to do on a Friday night.  Here Paul is  – studying for his written driver’s exam – they make you take it every time you renew here in Oregon.  Notice the useful highlighter in his hand.  At one point I thought he was taking notes.  He showed up at the DMV at 7am when they opened – there were already thirty people in line before him.  True to form, he scored 100%.

We also watched my second favorite TV show – Men in Trees.  We like it mainly because it’s set in Alaska.

Today Paul carved his annual pumpkin.  Always the overachiever, his pumpkins are beautiful.  I heard people actually stopping outside our apartment to admire it.  Previous works of art are HERE and HERE.
