As of today, I am no longer “in my twenties”.  It’s a little wierd to be saying, “I’m thirty years old.”

No way!

It’s true.  I had been thinking about making a list of things I wanted to do before I turn fourty (uh, fourty? that seems like light years away, only old people turn fourty).  I think lists like this really serve very little purpose at all.  Think about it, how much stuff do you not plan, but when it happens to you, you are really glad?  That being said, here goes:

1.  Have at least two more kids and experience motherhood to the fullest.

2.  Go to Alaska and maybe live there.

3.  Start teaching again when my kids are old enough.  Perhaps get my reading endorsement so that I can be a reading specialist.

4.  Actively study God’s Word.  More than just simple devotions, I wan’t to seek out hardcore study.  I am auditing a class at Multnomah right now, and it’s been really good for me.  I want my kids to know that I get up early in the morning and study and pray for them.

5.  Pursue more outdoor activities as a family.  Paul and I have always enjoyed the outdoors, and now that we have a baby, it’s changed a little.  We need to find out what it looks like to to be outside with kids.

6.  Be grateful for whatever God brings my way.

It’s 6:29 and I am going to hop back in bed and sleep with Eli for a while (a birthday indulgence).  I never realized how sweet it would be to sleep with your baby and now I totally understand why people co-sleep.  It’s like that’s where they are supposed to be.  Paul went to the 24 hour starbucks this morning at five and brought me a latte in bed.  My mom is coming to take me out to lunch.  Happy birthday to me!
